Pro Tree T-Brake Vs. Full Tree T-Brake in SS

Is there a performance advantage to using a certain kind of transbrake in Super Stock?

When I went from a old TCI valve body to a Griner valve body I was .035 faster with Griner. Everything else in car was the same.

I have had three transmissions in mine, I won't name the other names, but whatever the Smiths put in my Pro Trans is faster than the other stuff I had. Only button I can find slow enough, even using a blinder, is the Just-N-Time button.
Best transmission I ever ownned as well.

Do you guys mean faster in reaction time or ET?

Is "faster" by dumping the reverse fluid quicker?

Faster in reaction time. I had to adjust more travel in button. To many redlights

The Pro Trans made the car faster, but I was referring to my lights. Suddenly going red with my old button.

Okay thanks guys!

Also - you can make your own adjustable button

When I raced super-gas I made my own trans brake buttons from surplus snap switches available at a local electronic store for about $2.50 a piece.
This is a similar one that can be ordered for about $9.00. I just made my own shims to change the length of the button travel. I could red light easy when used with little travel.

Re: Pro Tree T-Brake Vs. Full Tree T-Brake in SS

Pro Tree brakes are typically fluid exhaust , meaning they rely on line pressure to move the valve when the solenoid releases . .....They are really intended for the Super .90 classes . makes it hard to not go red on a full tree .
They typically us much higher line pressure than a spring actuated valve .
Higher line pressure = more HP consumption = slower ET's !
