SBF crankshaft

I am trying to figure out if there is a replacement crankshaft list for super stock. I see there is one for stock but I am not seeing one for super stock. Thanks for the help.

Thanks,
Jamie

Re: SBF crankshaft

How about Forged steel Boss 302. The non cross drilled 70 crank is the best of the two.

They are the same. If it is legal in a Stock eliminator engine, it is legal in a Super Stock engine. All aftermarket cranks for SS must be like an OEM crank, so no billets (unless factory equipped), knife-edging, excess lightening, etc. There are only two SBF cranks accepted at this time, the Eagle 430230005090FD for the 302, and the Accufab for the 5.4 modular motor.

The following NHRA link says what is allowed in a Super Stock class crankshaft:

The 69 Boss 302 and 70 Boss 302 cranks are not the same!
69 is across drilled hollow rod pin and 70 is not cross drilled! 2 different part numbers. You don't want to run cross drilled above 8000 rpm.
Been there done that!

I contacted Eagle about this part number in 2014 to see if it was available and they told me it had been discontinued around 10 years ago. Eagle's current forged crank for the 302 is part number 430230015090, As of an email in 2014 they said they had given up trying to get NHRA to approve it.

Difficult to find perfectly clean and legal forged cranks for SBF.

Lots on the market, none on the list. Go figure.

Re: SBF crankshaft

The 430230005090FD crank is a Eagle Forged 4340 crank made for Ford and sold under the part # M-6303-E302 crankshaft. It is the 302 internally balanced crank used in Ford's crate motors. Hollow rod journals, nice piece. They are available for less than $300. I think it's the best best deal out there for a forged Ford 302 crank. Still available! Shop around!

M-6303-E302 is no longer available - the last one left the warehouse in January 2015. There may be 1 or 2 sitting somewhere. It was a smoking deal while it lasted.

Two new on Ebay right now, many Ford suppliers sell them. Roush Yates stocks them and sells them for 289 w/free shipping. There are plenty around...how do I know...staring at two I had stroked .013 yesterday.
