Mopar 2 bbl jets
Anyone have a source for bigger jets for the Carter 2BBL circa 1976-80? Thanks

Do not have a source, but have a few old carburetors you could drill out the jets.

Re: Mopar 2 bbl jets
I always thought the later mechanical carters used the same jets and rods as a themoquad but I could be wrong. I used the vacuum version and you can't buy jets for it. I bought a few cores... You will eventually need odd ball parts and pieces. I bought 3 cores and now I have 4 sets of jets that are different sizes. Start with a stock jet and increase sizes by a few .001 until you get to your target size.

Buy a set of jet drills and see what you have now, if you're running open headers you'll be going up at least .010" from stock.

Re: Mopar 2 bbl jets
If you are talking BBD 2 brl, use regular carter/edelbrock afb jets. They are direct replacements. Quadrajetparts.com has jets from .070" and up.

Re: Mopar 2 bbl jets
Use a 1/4 32 NEF tap to 'fix' the threads for the jets. If you don't have much room under the jet, use a bottoming tap. Or you can grind the end of the tap flat. Than you can use Holley jets. I have done this on several carbs and haven't had problems. If you have metering rods just leave then out. Good luck and happy motoring.

Don't forget the fun part. Deburring the raised metal from the hole you drill.

Unless you are or have access to a competent machinist and equipment trying to do it yourself you will end up with a half assed job. We tried to do jets for carbs and pills for injection and they were never as good as the stuff u get from the manufacturers. Might work might not work worth a try. Fed 387

Re: Mopar 2 bbl jets
On the early vacuum carter bbd (68-73) there isn't a source for different jet sizes. At least nothing I've found online. I built a fixture and use a drill press.. It's not a perfect system but it gets the job done.. And it's free :)
