Gt rules fine Print?
Could a 71 Chevelle motor be run in a 69 car in a GT class based on Chevelle hp?
Like a late Camaro? that runs GT/AA? Someone suggested that there HAD been a yr limit for GT class body. |
Re: Gt rules fine Print?
Only mention per Nhra rule book IS engine and body must both be listed in Stock classification guide

Re: Gt rules fine Print?
That was my impression but someone thought there was a year rule limiting to 85 some how.
Now what if a71 chevelle motor were placed in a 69 corvette? would you use the Vette hp or the chevelle hp? ( I bet they would push for vette hp) |

Dick
Chevelle SS/GT Engine HP and Corvette shipping weight, I think there used to be a year limit of 1980 and newer body in GT. Mario |
Re: Gt rules fine Print?
Aren't there currently several 55-56-57 Chevys running in GT

FED
I don't know if there is but they would be legal. Mario |
Re: Gt rules fine Print?
I just reread it. Both the engine and car have to be in the NHRA guides. For Chevy, that's anything from 1955 to the present day.
2008 or something COPO engine cars are restricted to Factory SS or FGT. Same for DragPak and CJ. Dale |
