Qualifying Question
 

On NHRA website said stock at Sonoma would be 50 entrys.the qualifiying lists showed 47 with 2 or 3 over their index....do the entrys over their index get to race?

Yes, but they have to at least dial their index in eliminations.

Do most or all of the natl events have limited entrys?

ALL Nat. events have a quota for the Sportsman classes.

Depends on where there racing at:
Some tracks have more space then others so the car quota might be higher.

Quota's are usually 55-70 cars.

Used to be all run with 128 car field. You had to qualify within the 128 positions or go home. Jim

Indy is the only event where the quotas exceed the size of the qualified fields. For Indy, the Stock and Super Stock quotas are at 180 for a 128 car qualified field. At the other 23 National events, Stock and Super Stock are only qualifying for position; at Indy, they are qualifying to be in the quickest 128 cars so that they can race in the eliminator.
