Photos From The Dutch

Hey everyone, I had a photographer take a bunch of photos from the Dutch with a little different perspective than I normally take. This is the first few sets, I have more coming later. I hope you all enjoy.

This first set focuses on the driver, I guess many of us wonder what we look like when getting ready to race.

Are the front wheels actually on the trailer as "blocks"? Looks like a roll up door.

Nothing under the drivers wheel. Maybe a death wish. Basic safety class 101.

That's aChevy truck based Olyenick hauler the car is sitting on. What the photo doesn't show is the winch cable under the car that pulled it up into the back of the truck as well as the tie down strap under there holding it to one of the rear floor tie downs. I was helping that particular racer, with his 69 SS/E Camaro, work under the car in one of those trucks just like that in the 70s. The truck certainly isn't going anywhere and the nose of the undercarriage, I am certain, is quite tied down inside the back. That was always the easiest way to do clutch and trans work back then and still is with that hauler.
Some things never change.....

That's what I meant to say Scott, the car is nosed into the truck but typed trailer instead. I need more coffee... Most unobstructed access to a cars drivetrain back then. Somewhere I have a lot of old pictures from the SportsNationals in Bowling Green with folks doing the very same thing. Did it myself with a "borrowed" truck to change front shocks on a GN at a GS Nationals long ago.
