Just when I thought I have seen it all, part two.....

Evidently , you can switch classes in D 7 during the race. A Superstock car qualified in SS/ga at the spring race that was called due to rain. Upon returning to Vegas he was in SS/ga and won Rd 1. After Rd1 ....get this .....he reclassified his car into SS/fa because....he was paired with another SS/ga car in Rd.2. Now that is one creative way to avoid a heads up run...When I heard this story I was shaking my head but it's all in black and white on DRC....As far as enforcing the rules lets just hope that what happens in VEGAS stays in VEGAS !!!

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that he changed classes before round 1, but DRC didn't notice it until after the round was over. It's OK to switch classes when a race is rescheduled but no eliminations have been run. I did it in Gainesville back in '98 I believe. I remember Danny didn't believe me when I said I could do it and I had to show him the section in the rulebook where it said I could. lol

Toby, that was my first thought also, that DRC didn't catch it. My sources assure me that he ran SS/ga in Rd. 1. This is a blatant violation of the rules. This scenario is sooo bizarre that many won't believe that it happened.

Maybe he switched to SS/FA when he bought back in?

Billy ,billy, what would you have done if this happened to you.? By some miracle another T/SA shows up and you are paired up with him next round . You have him covered by 4 tenths and he mysteriously changes classes. Now this is hypothetical cause there is no way that this would happen in D 1...... What would you do billy ??

Very incredible story, I guess it shows anything can happen in Vegas.

Just curious, what is the viewpoint of the other driver involved in the non-heads-up race in round 2???

Whoa M.J., I'm with you! I was just directing a little bit of sarcasm at the "West Coast Rules".

Just curious how the system works regarding how the data gets entered into the computer, I would have assumed that it would automatically pick up on the heads up deal and would override someone attempting to enter a dial in? Assuming the car got entered in a specific class, wouldn't the computer pick up the heads up and not allow for the dial in override? Just asking?

I changed classes as well on my tech card. DRC did not have my class correct either. Guess I was running as well.

According to this, http://www.dragracecentral.com/DRCSt...r=100#indextop
It appears he won round one as a SS/FA.

Looks to me like it was just a wrong class entry on DRC in round one.
