testing pan pressure

a while back there was a posting on how to test pan pressure using a dwyer 0-10 in. water column monometer, does any one have the part number of that monometer or
where I can find the posting? I tried finding it in the older posting but nothing found.
thanks in advance for any info......

There are electronic ones now that are better than a manometer. The water column ones are not real accurate. You have to hold them perfectly plumb to get a good reading. The electronic ones do to .001

A three bar manifold absolute pressure sensor can be use to measure crankcase pressure and vacuum.

I use a Dwyer flow meter to measure blow by, I suppose that you could calculate pressure from that.

Mike/alan, thanks for the info. What i'm after is a reference point
is the ring blow by that presureizes the oil pan. This ref. Point
will start the season and monitored after every race while the motor is still "hot". Reference point will be a steady 5000 rpm
(no load). This process should yield enough info. To deterimine if the ring's are starting to go "south" (no pun intended as i live in the south of texas....what do you thnk????

Any data logger that has a 5 volt reference signal and can read the 5 volt return can read and log the 3 bar MAP sensor data.

I never thought about using a 3 bar. Your pretty smart.
