Pro stock
Is it just me or does it seem NHRA, ESPN or someone else is trying to phase out Pro Stock. The coverage is not to good for P/S. Very little qualifying and skipped a whole round in the finals.

Re: Pro stock
Probably needed to make room for nitro Harleys.Who'd want to miss that.

Re: Pro stock
It looks like the fuel cars are using Pro Stock as filler..............
It won't be long before the fuel guys can split the contingency money 2 ways and not 3.............. Pro Stock is headed to the same place that Pro Stock Truck went when the fuel guys got tired of a 4 way split......... I would welcome them all back to Stock & Super Stock.... Bob PS: What did everybody think about that made up BS dust up between the 2 millionaires?????????? Just goes to show you what people will do for ratings & $$$$$$$$$... |
Re: Pro stock
The show in general was a flop. I only watched the show to see the new paint schemes and who did what at the first race.
The "BS" between John and Don was a waste of time - WHO CARES???? I've seen the Nitro Harleys in person, not as much fun on T.V. Best interviews - Leah Pritchett after she won and Ron Capps after he redlit. |

It was almost as bad as the whining post about the LD340 intake. |

Re: Pro stock
Watching the coverage it is easy to see why people can’t get sponsorship for Pro-Stock. They pretty much hide the little they do show in the middle of the telecast. Maybe they could use some of the time that is used to cover the JR Dragster career of the stick drivers to actually cover current Pro-Stock.
Thank god for DVR’s so I can skip over all the nitro and watch the little bit of Pro-stock without wasting 2 hours of my life. |
Re: Pro stock
A "Thousandairy". I have been called all kind of stuff, especially by my wife, but a new tag. I kinda like that. Do you have to be old, fat, and stupid to get in that club? That right there is funny, I don't care what you say.

Re: Pro stock
This topic really torques my vent hole! I know this idea comes up over and over and over again but why not use the new factory race cars for a new improved Pro Stock???? It just seems like such a great idea I can't understand why it isn't even considered by the NHRA. Why do they stick them in S/SS with more letters--is it just to make an already incomprehensible class even more confusing? They get rid of the separate FI classes in the name of simplifying, they take .3 off our indexes to help the little guy (wtf?) now I have to compete against cars that come with their own factory support team! Don't get me wrong, I love the renewed factory interest and I have nothing against rich people racing but why not let these guys show off on the big stage? And don't even get me started on the over-Camaro of the class....

Re: Pro stock
My original post was not meant to start in fighting. I know this not a P/S site, but I am worried about our class racing. If they will do this to one of their top three pro classes, where do we stand. Are they going cut a eliminator series the way they did the Modified series. The stock rules are, in my opinion, getting too "loose". My concern is where will they stop. One big "bracket"? I left Drag racing for a while a, and now I realize what a great sport we have. I don't want to go back to where I was. It involved running in circles and not nearly friendly.
