National event quota's
I don't understand that NHRA has a quota of cars that requires multiple bye runs in the field, nobody does the math in the organization other then money? Wouldn't be better instead of of 65 cars like at the 4 wide, that you have 64. If the car counts change because of gold card holder's.

Re: National event quota's
Provisional entries and "no-shows" would make it difficult to determine the exact car count. If you wanted to limit bye runs and have even fields, you need to make it a 64 car qualified field and accept 75 entries per say.

Re: National event quota's
It happened in Super Comp at the Gators. Jacob Elrod got a bye in the 3rd and the semis. Now, I know they don't get laddered till 2nd round but, just a case in point of a recent 2 bye run situation

Re: National event quota's
They should take 70-75 but only qualify 64.

Re: National event quota's
This is a money saving tactic by NHRA, if there is a bye
run, that means one less car to payout. Dan |

We talked about this yesterday. It would curb the ladder game because now the 1000 foot runners would have to run it all out or at least lift later. |

64 car Q field has merit, if it lets 10 more cars enter. This is the real concern, in my opinion..Not bye runs. |
Re: National event quota's
Wouldn't a 64 car qualified field would also help clean up some shortcomings of the AHFS?
