Has there ever been a "R" Stocker that entered Super Stock..

...and qualified under the SS index in complete 100 % legal (down to the weight) R Stocker trim ?

I think there have been some N, O, and P stockers do it, but I have never heard of an R Stocker doing it.

Why run R weight (18#), when SS/P is 17 #'s ?

True, but I was just curious if anyone had actually done it @ 18#.

I guess I am just bored and was looking for a new challenge this year. ;)

Go for it, if I was the only one in R, wouldn't have to worry about getting beat by a faster, big money car, just a bracket race then.

Yep, unless I just happen to get paired up with another SS/PA entry, then it's just a ( no buy-back ) bracket race :D
Should be the slowest car in the group. I'm used to looking over my shoulder. lol

I might try it @ the Sportsnationals.
I will have to be 273 lbs. heavy in SS to do it

Don't forget there are several items req'd to be legal in SS; roll bar, harness, fire pants, SFI flexplate, trans shields, SFI balancer, etc

I believe Harry Doolittle has some experience in this: Not in "R", but the general concept.

Yes, out west, I believe in SS/PA. He goes about 2-3 tenths under. Even won a national event a few years ago.
