“The way the final went I think I was really a little surprised when my win light came on and I didn’t remember to pull the ‘chute until I made the turn at the other end, too late at that point. In the winner’s circle, with all the things going on, photos and the like; Gary reached up to me and said ‘Dad, you forgot to pull the parachute in Las Vegas AND here.’ So as good as racing is going, I’m not Dad of the Year.”
