Took me about 3 cheap 5-quart jugs of Walmart SuperTech oil. Run briefly, drain, repeat until it looks like oil coming back out.

Thanks Mr.Evans and Class Racer gurus!

I guess the tricky thing is we are also trying to break in a big flat tappet cam at the same time.I also have this gunk stuff to help clean out the system . What about using a very good break in oil (AMSOIL), and the gunk combo as a "2 part deal" ? here are some pics...

Re: oil/water

Leave the intake off and put a heater under the oil pan and let it run for a while and most of the moisture will dissipate. Might not get it all but will help

Did you replace oil filter each time, or drain the filter & re-use?

Mike has a great plan. If you can get the pan off, place the pickup tube in fresh oil and manually run the pump pushing fresh oil through the passages. Just remember to have a large catch pan underneath!

Re: oil/water

do any of the engine oiler pre/lube deals use a separate resiviour that you could pump fresh oil through the system and into the empty oil pan...then just drain it?
