Re: GT stock
It is just like building a regular stocker except you are using a different motor. All the same specs apply as far as part#s, just they are for the motor you are running.
Duane Eiskantt II runs a stock/gt Mustang. He regularly posts on this forum. He could answer some of your questions. You could also go to an IHRA race and talk to Hank Blankenship from IHRA. |

Re: GT stock
after rereading I did understand what I was talking about My question is why are there so few GT Stock cars ? I see alot of GT SS but no stock anyone know why?

Re: GT stock
GT SS cars are eligible to run in NHRA & IHRA.
GT stockers are an IHRA only deal and therefore are less popular. Neat concept, but NHRA didn't buy into it. |
Re: GT stock
IF you are going to run IHRA only I think stock GT is the way to go. your 85-90 camaro is a good body to use just remember the engine need to be older then 80. as for the rest ..you just take the shipping weight with small block & the Hp of the engine you want to run & divide to get the class it fits ..........what engine are you looking to run?

Re: GT stock
NHRA never adopted the GT Stock Class rule due to some racers asking NHRA to allow FWD conversions in the class.

Re: GT stock
I ran a powerglide with my 350 combo in a 86 trans am(s\gtb) and i changed to a turbo 350 it leaves alot better, It's a learning game to see what works with you car and combo.
