91 Ford Probe -- what class in stock
I'm thinking of building a low budget entry level stocker out of a 91 Ford Probe LX with 6cyl. I've looked for what class it will fit but can't find it. Does anyone know? Car weight is 2730 and hp is 145 from factory specs.
Basically what I'm looking to do is build a inexpensive car to get into the show instead of watching, if anyone knows of any stockers for sale under 5000 let me know as well, maybe I'll scrape the build and by a pre-built car |

Paper work was never sent by ford to get the car in the class guide. Thats why know listing for it.

I'm not super knowledgable about the NHRA class guide, but some others on here could help.
But dont let anyone tell you that you can't build a "budget" stocker. A friend of mine built a '73 comet that runs Q/SA. It only runs about .30 under, and it's not the most competitive car in this class but he is a good driver and still went some rounds. He won a national open, and went rounds at northwest nationals two years in a row. He had about 4500 into the car, and had a blast. Pretty much payed for the car with his winnings for last year too! I am a big fan of the low budget cars in stock, good luck! |
