Atlanta LODRS...who's going?
 

Now that all the excitment of Indy is now over, it's back to the "ho-hum" races.

Sorry about being a .90 racer posting in the Stock/Super Stock area, but I seem to be about the only .90 racer from Div 2 that post on here, so please excuse the intrusion.

The Atlanta race is only about 4 weeks away, so who's planning to go? We plan to be there and hopefully make a better showing than we have at any of the other LODRS races we have been to so far this year.

SW, are you and the old man planning on making the trip?

When you first met him 35 years ago, what was he doing? Standing in line outside of the Social Security office to sign up? :)

In the time I have spent racing the best thing I have gained from it is the great people I have had the chance to meet, and Tom Ward (a.k.a. The Old Man) is at the top of that list.

Joe, I think as I remember Tom was standing at the ET slip window trying to get the girls attention, but the window was too high and she couldn't see him!

We will most likely go up Wednesday before the race and spend Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning in Elberton, the place we get granite from to make the grave stones. Its only about 30 miles from the track so we will get over there and tech the car in Thursday afternoon.

We are coming up in the truck and staying at a motel again this year, so tell the Old Man I'll make the breakfast run for him each morning if he needs it. Also tell the Old Man that I haven't forgot the motor deal if he still has it available. I need to ride down there and talk to him about it. Maybe you could help me out and swerve from side to side as you drive down the roads in Lake County to help my business. I can bring grave stones down there too. LOL. :)

Give me a call when it gets closer to the end of the month and we can make plans to be pitted close together.

You know your dad and I go back a long way. He is one of the nicest guys I know and I am damn proud to call him my friend. I have watched you and your brother grow up to be two fine young men. Your dad and I will always be friends no matter how short he is! LOL. Love you Tom, mean it! Jim
