Re: NHRA Pacific National open Fontana Ca
I went out there Friday, got in rather quickly, got out of the trailer and teched right away, the weather was good, the wind wasn't a problem, Saturday's time onlies went well, Sunday seemed right on schedule, I thought the race went well and was well run, I wish i'd done better, but no problems and other issues, so i'm glad I went.

Re: NHRA Pacific National open Fontana Ca
Greg,
Good to see you out, first of all. I agree wholeheartedly that the race was well organized and well run. I lost way early Sunday, but left feeling like I’d be back for that race in the future. I hope the National Open in Sacramento 5/4-5/6 will run as smoothly and be as well attended. Grade points out here within a couple hundred miles of home can be tough to come by so I really feel like these races need our support. Now if only they could do something about LA traffic! |

Re: NHRA Pacific National open Fontana Ca
It was pointed out to me by a rather astute former racer, that the heads-up G/SA final, was in fact a dial -in race . I assume it was because the scale was not "certified".
I'll bet the decision wasn't real popular there, but at least the world didn't end Sunday night, I don't think ,anyway..Seems like we're still here. Hope nobody quit over a one-time deal. |
Re: NHRA Pacific National open Fontana Ca
That’s pretty common out here when there’s a Combo. I can’t remember one in the last 4-5 years that’s involved heads-up races.

Re: NHRA Pacific National open Fontana Ca
Huh, ain't that something. So my U/SA slug had a chance to beat the #1 qualifier, one of the baddest U/SA'rs in the land. How much more Milque Toast is NHRA gonna get. My car would deserve a whippin', not a "here's your gift" undeserved shot. Oh well. Like most everyone else, flying down the track is still a rush and probably why most of us still go.
