Thank you Rusty Hall

We all have been in a situation where you're in a pretty major bind. As stressful as that can be you can usually find something positive in the whole mess.

This past weekend we had an issue on Gary Emmons Black Mustang where the fan wire grounded out and melted the wiring, while in the lanes for Q3 of course. After hearing about the issue I hopped on the scooter and rushed over to take a look. After a few trips back to the trailer I had it "repaired".

With probably only 10 pairs in front of us I rushed back to the trailer to grab the Camaro and headed the lanes to try and make the run. I was in such a rush getting my pants and jacket on I decided not to set the tires for the run.

Rusty Hall who had already been over trying to help with the Mustang asked if there was anything he could do to help me. He set the pressures in my tires and stayed by Gary and I until he knew we didn't need anything else.

Moments like this remind me of why I love our sport. For another racer to take the initiative to come over and help like he did just blows me away.

Rusty I truly appreciate your concern for us and taking the time to come lend a hand when we were in need!

Thank you

It's racers like Rusty, the story of John Irving jump starting his competition, and the multitude of Mopar racers that came to my aid when I ate a lifter @ the recent Wild Horse Pass divisional that put the "CLASS" in class racing. Making me indeed proud to be counted among your number... :)

Some of my family just started coming to the races a few years ago and they all have made comments about how well we all treat each other considering we are all out there competing to win.

Most everyone out there would help repair or loan parts to someone you have to run the next round just to be able to race for the round win.

When I was racing the high school class I pulled a set of jumper cables out of the tool box in the dually I was driving to jump start my opponent lol!

I’ve always loved the sportsmanship of a “true” drag racer.

Loaning parts, helping a fellow racer (as described here), waiting in the water if the other guy’s car won’t start, etc, are all examples of why we all love this sport.

Rusty is always ready to help along with his brother Steven in doing anything that will assist you.

He and Steven helped me by loaning some tires and wheels and even put them on and took them off again.

Special family of racers indeed.

Heck, Slick (Rusty) cut me grass here at the house many years back while here on the west coast at the finals, he's been help other times too but pushing a mower around was cool !
