Maxima oil

Currently running Lucas full synthetic racing oil 10-30 in our LT1 stocker. Thinking about trying Maxima I've heard good things about it ,but they have a lot of different oil products. Looking to keep my protection level up..but maybe pick up a little HP? Anybody use it?

How much HP do you think you will achieve by changing brands of oil? If what you are currently using is doing its job why switch. I wot contact Maxima for a list of current drag racers using their oil contact them ask what their results have been. Then make an informed decision. I think that unless you are looking for a few hundredths in ET you are wasting not only your time but money too. My .02 cents

That's exactly what I'm doing here.....reaching out to other racers for their results, opinions. .anyway they recommend their RS line. So maybe I'll give it a try.... $14.97 a quart ouch!

I've had really good luck with Lucas Oil. Jeff Warren also says that the engines look good when he freshens them. If you're looking to pick up a couple numbers by changing oil, I would suggest looking at lighter weight Lucas products. I know the 0-10 is a good choice.

Thats a really good point. I know we had a slight performance improved with the 305 going from Amalie to Lucas

I run the Maxima oil with no issues. I buy mine thru PMR Race cars with contact info to Tony Mandella. He will treat you right. And Maxima does pay contingency as long as you have the decal. Its just not posted.

You might want to check out JR 1 oil contact Mike Roth at MR2 race cars765.483.9371 and Tell him I recommended it . It won't break the bank and is a great oil that has proven to pick up a few over other brands

I've used Maxima 'Break In' oil with the extra Zinc in my engine, accidentally overheated it a couple of times and the oil pressure never wavered. Even though my engine is past it's break in period, my engine builder recommended I keep using it because of the chemical protection. I have a flat tappet cam.

Also have used the RS full synthetic with good results, it has high zinc/phosphorus too.

Not sure if there is any performance gain compared to other brands. I just like the oil.

From what I've observed over the years, racing oil is kinda like beer; everybody has their own brand and swears it's better than all the others. The fact that there are many different brands used by many different fast guys (and engine builders) suggests that they're all good.
