What about SS changes?
Len,
Any luck with a higher GT class at 7 or 7.5 lb? any consolidation in SS or GT? |
Re: What about SS changes?
Dick,
No new classes in S/S for 2008. We need to consolidate some classes in S/S before anything else new can be looked at. |
Re: What about SS changes?
So what will be consolidated this year as a starting point to decreasing numbers of classes?

Re: What about SS changes?
Hopefully not GT and SS. The old cars would become oboslete with a stroke of the keyboard.
Why not consolidate some of the Modifed classes? They enjoy enough advantages as is. Give'em some more heads up races. |
Re: What about SS changes?
I would first move the modified cars out of super stock and into comp. They are really not super stock cars. This would cut back on the amount Classes in SS and add some more affordable classes to comp.I would also eliminate the front drive conversions. They dont really conform to the style of cars that should be in Super Stock. They are more like a comp car with a SS motor.

Re: What about SS changes?
I think guys come around me fast now - stick SS/GS in comp and you'll have 13 sec FWD cars racing 6 sec cars - See those fast guys back into the stripe and save index in that situation. I know you're talking the cars that can double as Super Modifieds but those blanket "move all modifieds" catches a handful of lessor "modified" super stockers.

Re: What about SS changes?
Tim,
There will never be any changes that will please everyone. I just think that the comp style cars should not be in Super Stock. I am not sure what a SS/GS is. If it runs in the 13 sec zone than it probably should be in stock. No offence to you Tim. Just my opinion. Mike |

Re: What about SS changes?
SS/GS has been represented this year by a few racers. Larry Dowty in division 6 (I think) Qualified way up there and went rounds Tim Kish has been at points meets and at Indy. Ron Sebelnick has a car in the class.
I'm very close to completing my car (SS/GS) So less talk about getting rid of the class or moving it to comp |
Re: What about SS changes?
Ran the SS/GS class car at Norwalk. Not real fast , but did run in SS/GS. So like Art says there are 4 and soon to be 5 cars in SS/GS. DO look at that. Ron Seibenick 3139 SS/GS
