why do some race TH350 trans use a PG input shaft? tks.

In my case, I switched from a Powerglide to a TH350. All my converters are glide input. Didn't want to buy all new converters.

Same here, wanted to use all of our conv from the glide.

That was my first thought too, Jeff.

It's actually much easier to put a hardened 30 spline input shaft into a PG, and use a T350 converter. Those shafts have been around for a long time.
I guess there are a lot of PG converters out there still.

I had PG input shafts for years in various cars with zero problems. Put a car together and bought a trans and used the PG input to fit converters I had. Less than 20 runs, broke an input. It was a 300M input supposedly. I went to a much better input and it never broke. Changed all my stuff to Turbo inputs some time later and sold everything that was PG splined.
