What winch do you guys think is the best for a 24' 28' enclosed trailer to load a 3500 to 3700 lbs stocker thanks

I've been using a 2500lb ATV winch for years now. I plan on upgrading to the Harbor Freight 5,000lb with a remote control.

I use an ATV winch, too. I have a tilt trailer so I needed to keep the weight down. My Superwinch LT4000 only weighs 24 lbs. and mounts on the trailer bed without upsetting the balance. It has just enough torque to pull my 3200 lb. Mustang up the slope of the bed. I added a bunch of wire to the remote to make it long enough to walk the car all the way to the trailer. 16 feet from the winch to the rear deck and the remote is only 12 feet. I'm going to get a snatch block to increase the pull of the winch so I can load in the drive this season. It's an uphill slope.

I have used a Harbor Freight 2500# to load 3200 lb Jeep - works but marginal. I suggest a 3500# unit - bought on Amazon for $89. Harbor Freight has coupons and most of the winches have remotes now.

Re: Winch

I also use a Super Winch.
My car weights 3500 lbs, approx .
After I bought it I bought a Super Winch remote.
The remote cost as much(all most) as the winch did;
they DID say it floats, imagine that!!!
The only issue if have had with winches is getting them
to spool properly. If there is a secret, I haven't found it!

We have a 4500# Superwinch and they are hard to beat.

Pretty affordable to with a great lifetime warranty! I have had trouble with the HF models.

That is the one that I have. It was on my open trailer for 3 years and now is in my enclosed trailer. I absolutely love it.

Re: Winch

The folks who make these winches sure don't load many race cars on trailers, at least not solo. They all have 50 feet of cable but only 10 to 12 foot remotes while we have 16 to 25 foot trailers. That requires a second person to turn the wheel while the car loads. Mine came with two remotes, one handlebar for an ATV and one trigger remote. I rigged them together for a cable around 30 feet long. I could load from in the car if needed. I had the hook come undone once. Watching the car roll towards the side of the house was not fun. I have walked wheel blocks behind the rear wheels since then.

I keep my cable lubed with spray chain oil to reduce the chance of snarling on the spool.

Re: Winch

You can get wireless winch remote conversions. I have one somewhere that I never used.
I imagine there are new winches that come with a wireless remote.
That remote wire is always getting in the way and/or tangled. Usually when it's dark and/or raining.
I'd "overbuy" when it comes to capacity. If that thing let's go with no driver...
