Which Spring Perch?
For a 12 bolt rearend:
When running the Calvert Split-Leaf springs, which spring perch is required or preferred? The mono leaf or multi leaf ? Thanks |
Re: Which Spring Perch?
Good question....... I use the "mopar" style perches on mine but I would assume a factory mono leaf perch would be the best bet. I think a multi leaf perch is too deep and would reaquire a shim of sorts. The split mono's are not as tall as the factory multi's but taller than a factory mono.
Make any sense ???? Now I'm confused ???? bob |
Re: Which Spring Perch?
Bob,
That is precisely what prompted me to ask this question!!! I would think (which is usually dangerous for me to do) that the mono-leaf perch is too shallow since the split-leaf is basically two leaves stacked upon one another. I e-mailed Calvert Racing but have yet to receive a response. There is a lot of brain-trust out there so hopefully someone can shed some more light on this. Anyone? |
Re: Which Spring Perch?
i just put the calvert split leaf springs on my 67 camaro and i used the universal perches from jegs.they work great and the locating pin [ bolt ] on the leaf springs fit into the locating hole in the perch so everything lined right up...parts and labor was about $100. hope this helps..

Re: Which Spring Perch?
I've always preferred the Blue Gill or Sun Perch. On light tackle they are fun to catch...They are always tasty when pan fried.

Re: Which Spring Perch?
Hmmmmm.......I wonder if these are available as well in the Jeg's catalog?......... :)

Re: Which Spring Perch?
May not be in the Jegs catalogue, but I bet their travelling chef could cook some up for you if you wear a yellow shirt & hat !

Re: Which Spring Perch?
Use the Mopar perches and box them in. That will do the job.
