Re: designated pairing
If someone misses 1st rd it will become more effective.

Re: designated pairing
The bottom 3 in the top half run the bottom 3 in the bottom
half. IE- Number 30 vs. # 62, # 31, # 31 vs. # 63, # 32 vs. # 64. J.R. |
Re: designated pairing
Some very good racers seem to have a knack for qualifying just above the fold.
Some times they get a DQ or or injured car. Good strategy but hard to do. If you go back and look at a few qualifying sheets you will see what I mean. Ron |
Re: designated pairing
The designated 3 are also first 3 pairs out. If you're late your opponent gets a freebie.
Saw it happen at Gators last year |

Re: designated pairing
At Heartland Park this weekend the first three pairs turned into 3 singles.
I watched the first round on live dragracertv on my computer. |
Re: designated pairing
Designated pairs in the sense that the bottom 3 qualifiers are the first 3 pairs down each round is great when it's communicated that's what is going on. In Div 7 it has been going on for a few years so we're all used to it, but it seems in a couple other divisions it has been something of a "day of" decision and not all competitors were aware.
I think it's completely necessary when trying to line up a 60+ car ladder for everyone to know who the first three pairs are so the "I don't want to go down first" crap doesn't come into play.. get things moving.. |
