Stocker in Super Stock
 
Always wondered out of curiosity how can a Stocker be allowed to run with Super Stock ?

Because a Super Stocker can be "exotic" to the limits of the Super Stock rules, and a Stocker is far less "exotic", and therefore, doesn't approach being illegal, by the Super Stock rules. The Stocker is always "under" the limits. if a Stocker can run the index, it can race in Super Stock.

IMO. Have never thought a entry built to race in Stock, should be allowed to race in SS. Just taking advantage of a loophole in the rules. Flame on !

Most times they fit and can be close to the stock index without having to change too much. Luckily for me I wanted to race at the epping national, stock was full so I got into super stock. Went a few rounds in ss/pa.... 12.65 index, usually run p/sa at a 13.45 index.

Exactly what LOOPHOLE are you referring to ? Obviously the engine and trans are legal.....if the safety equipment meets superstock specs then the car is a .superstocker ....Ernie Neal proved you don’t have to race with 14 x 32 s to race superstock....

Most stockers can't run as fast to the index in SS so what is the problem ??

Just a reminder...

Some Stockers that would pass a visit to the "NHRA Stocker Barn", will not pass a visit to the "NHRA Super Stock Barn."

Just sayin...

So if you had a legal stocker that lets say is a natural C/SA but...your combo has been so over factored, it wont outrun any other combo in C/SA. ( just like our natl champs car our natl champ doesn't even want to take her car to Indy,that's just wrong) ...so anyway there are 4-5 C/SA cars in your division and you cant outrun any of them if you happen to get paired ...but there's only 1 in SS/JA ..
