Fiberglass leaf springs
Has anyone tried them? Where did you get them? Did you like them? Are they available with custom arches, or just one arch setting?
Thanks, Greg |
Re: Fiberglass leaf springs
I had Flex-Form springs under the Mustang until I decided to update the chassis. Took off a bunch of weight. You can have them custom made for your application and spring rate.Overall I liked them. Flex-Form.com

Are they legal for Stock?

Re: Fiberglass leaf springs
We used the Flex Form springs for 4 seasons in a 3450 lb Stock Mustang. Replaced them with Calvert product when both sides started to split(delaminate?) between the diff and the rear mount. The manufacturer suspected that we missed the spring rate target when they were ordered.
I didn't notice significant change in track results and expect durability to be superior. It appears that the split monoleaf spring allows greater separation based upon before & after pics. The fiberglass springs rode smoother on sketchy return roads, I must say that. |

Re: Fiberglass leaf springs
I was wondering if they had to be steel, as was "stock". But I guess if the Calvert split mono's are legal, why not make 'em fiberglass, too?
I'm from the old school when the "stockers" were a lot more "stock" than they are now. lol |
