Rod bearings
Just went to order a set of rod bearings, have always used Clevite 77 trimetal with good results. I was informed no longer available, now only available in the A suffix aluminum material. I know this is the way most of the OEM's have gone, anyone had any problems going with the aluminum material?

Re: Rod bearings
Jim,
I switched to King bearings some years ago and they have held up great...showed much less wear then my old Clevites. |
Re: Rod bearings

Re: Rod bearings
I've been using King Black Max bearings for several years with great results.
Besides good wear, they are more consistent in size when setting oil clearance . |
Re: Rod bearings
Jim , is this for the 258?
I used King CR648SI bearings in Eric's engine. They are the bi metal type , King does not have the Tri metal available for the 258. No problems with wear on them . |
Re: Rod bearings
Part number and undersize? I've got more stuff on the shelf than I should have. :(
