Indexing washers

Occasionally I have to run indexing washers on my tapered seat plugs. What is your opinion of them and do they leak compression? I've always been leery of them.

Curious as to why you need to index them, is it due to piston clearance?

Re: Indexing washers

Used them on a 23 degree brodix head to index plug as I was running alot of nitrous. They never leaked that I know of but was a pain to use and reuse.

Just buy 24 or 32 plugs. You can get them all in the right spot.

True. But what becomes of the 6 or 7 that don't work? Send them back?

We run them in our bracket cars.

Have used both types since the early 70's. Leaking is not an issue

It's easy to know which ones won't work. It's the 2 or 3 plugs that are the most difficult to access.
