Live from Lebanon Valley,NY - NHRA D1 Lucas Oil Race #2
So Summer treated us to another warm, humid day here at the Valley and even though things got started a bit late test n tune went pretty well with the track having some great bite considering the temp near ninty and the barometer in the toilet @ 29.15 .Having a DA in the high three thousand range is not what we're used to.
Then all of a sudden it's six o'clock and yep here it comes - dark clouds - lightning -and plenty of wet stuff .Needless to say test n tune is over and we'll start again tomorrow going into qualifying rounds bright and early. Tonight it's hang out with the ASRA crowd and tell lies . BTW - the trip here included not going under any bridges so things are better. |

Good morning members - So much for a bright and early start as Mother Nature decided to dump a bunch on us during the night. So far I've not heard any track drying equipment out there but I'm hoping soon .
Some things never change but yesterday I was greeted coming into the pits by a strange one - someone was in Jim Boudreau's pit spot . Yep, the same one he has been in for as long as I remember .Just sayin' . Speaking of pit spots the place is getting pretty full as rigs are still pulling in this AM - this joint looks more like a RV camp than a racetrack - sign of the times? Back later after the first Q round …….. |

Talk about a wild day - we had two bundles of rain come thru and still managed to get in two rounds of everybody ! ! All that and at this moment we're doing clean-ups and the Sun is shining .
After both rounds of Stock were done Eric Merryfield in his '10 Challenger Drag Pak is on top of the sheet with a -997 run .SuperStock saw Scottie Gove in his mighty '16 Daytona leading the pack at -0953 run. Tomorrow as usual we'll have one more shot at the track then go into elims . |
Re: Live from Lebanon Valley,NY - NHRA D1 Lucas Oil Race #2
are stock and super stock getting another shot today or are they going right into elims?

Re: Live from Lebanon Valley,NY - NHRA D1 Lucas Oil Race #2
Yesterday had most classes do their last Q run and then first round except for S/S -probably because of their 42 car field .The track was not having a great day - in the morning things were OK but as first rounds went on the right lane was like a skating rink .I'm not sure what they could have done but many of us in the 1st round who lost the coin toss got put into the bad lane and were doomed and like Alan said - they did a second burnout .Not fun to spend the time and money to come here and have that happen .If they want to have high horsepower stockers on nine inch tires they have to give us a track worthy of them also - it wasn't just the 'modern' cars - many traditional cars were bitten by that lane .By my count there were 3 COPO's and no Cobra Jet's .There must be a reason why the owners won't bring them out ...........
Jr Dragsters are first out this AM followed by Stock . BTW, its a super nice morning - sunshine , blue skies and temp in the low seventies . |
