Help with Gas tank

I don't want to run a fuel cell, so I am looking for someone who can modify my stock pickup to an AN fitting also maybe incrse the size of the pickup.

TIA

Dave

A good radiator shop can do that mod....

You can remove the original pickup and drill it for an AN bulkhead fitting. Then use aluminum tube with AN tube fittings for your pickup.

Check out these site for ideas.

Dave,
take the sending unit out and cut off the fuel lines on both sides, then drill it out for a bulkhead fitting either # 6 or # 8 depending what size line you want. Use steel tubing to replace the inside line, flare the end and secure it using a tube nut.

In lieu of steel tubing, I would recommend the use of aircraft aluminum tubing. Does not corrode, lighter and absorbs vibration and harmonics without breaking at the fitting.

I have also used copper tubing bent to shape and soldered in place through the flange for the pickup tube. I believe GM solders the steel tubing in place from the factory. You can even solder the float sending unit onto the copper tube and have the stock fuel gauge work.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on this. Time to have some fun fabbing.
