Trouble With PM System ???
 

Is anybody else having trouble with the PM system ?

I recently got a PM, then sent back a reply. Got no response. So, I checked my "Sent Items". Only shows one sent item, out of the many I've sent.

Recently, when my folder got nearly full, I deleted a few of the PM's, but nowhere near as many as are now gone.

Is everybody having this problem ?

Am I doing something wrong ?

I just resent a reply to a PM. Will see if it goes thru.

It is NOT showing up on my "Sent Items".

Just sent a PM directly to a member, rather than a reply to his PM.

There is no record of it in my "Sent Items"

Have also left a message on the phone number he gave me. No response.

So, I'll ask here if anybody knows how I can get a message to member listed as kuhn3764 :confused:

My PM's & replies have worked just fine up until now.

Try this,on the far left corner on top of this page you will see" User CP".Click on that,It will take you to a page were you can change your settings.Scroll down to" private messages",then click on "send new message",on the bottom of that page you will see "additional options".Make sure there's a check mark by"Save a copy of messages in your sent items folder".After try sending a PM and see if shows it being sent...gsa612

So, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that somehow, now, all of a sudden, my PM's MAY be getting thru, but there is just no copy of that "Sent Item" in my PM files ? :confused:

So, would it be OK if I send you a PM, just to see if it's getting thru ?

If it's OK, I'll just say something like Test. Did you get it ?

OK, I've been busy & just got back. Haven't sent you anything.

Got your PM. Tried to respond to it. Clicked on the save a copy deal. Could not type a single letter in the box, under your quoted message, where I'm supposed to type my message back to you.

Don't usually have any problem with the PM system on most car forums. Maybe this one is a little different & I'm doing something wrong. :confused:

OK, now I'll try just a straight PM from me to you. I clicked on the save a copy & it did save me a copy.

OK, got it solved.

Always click on "save a copy".

And, if you can't type in the box, to respond to a PM, log out, then log back in. Don't know why, but after the log-out / log-in procedure, I can then type in the reply box. :confused:

Is there a check mark by "save a copy of messages in your sent items folder"?.If it's not checked,click on the box and a check will be there.This way you will have a copy in your sent items automatically each time you send a PM.If you do it this way you may not see a "save a copy" prompt.You shouldn't have to log out and then back in...gsa612
