Does this mean no sportman classes running at the Gators? If so and S/ST is run there I will be there. If S/ST is not run there I'll be the first in line to buy a spectator ticket. I think it has been probably 10 years since I've went to Gainesville during the Gators. I enjoy watching sportman classes run, but I wounldn't walk across the street from my house to watch John Force and whoever run even if they let me in for free.

I do believe and have believed for some time that sportsman classes running at the traditional NHRA national events will become a thing of the past. The recent sell-off of NHRA assets points closer to that direction from what I can see.

Time will tell.

Joe: NHRA has no intension of conducting national events without sportsman categories. As a matter of fact the new agreement insures that sportsman racer will continue to be part of NHRA national events for at least the next 25 years.

well i guess that is good news not only do i race but i am also a fan and still like to watch Top Fuel Funny Car and Pro Stock
