I'm about to.
Have a Proflite and have had several other ProFlites through the years.
Have you seen a gear ratio chart?

I have, there right around 60 combinations of gear ratios that I saw if you are asking!

From gear selection or less friction?

What was in it prior to the pro trans? Poweglide?

Re: pro trans advice

It was a 208 Powerglide, the advantage is it does not
pull down the RPM on the gear change like a PG.
You do not need to over rev the 1-2 shift like a PG.
You have a smaller RPM window to work in.

I would like to make that change with my car. I figured it would be worth about .015. I like the glide because it is so durable and simple. Mine really struggles at the gear change.

Re: pro trans advice

Its hard to beat a PG as far as easy to work on
and reliability, but the ProTrans 904/350 is also
very reliable and easy to work on. Its hard to spend
the money but you wont be disapointed.
