Bill Rink #1 Qualifier !
 

Somebody here usually makes a big deal over #1 qualifiers. But, since this one is Pontiac powered, I may be the only one here who cares enuff to post it.

At Earlville, as far as I know, Bill had the only Pontiac powered SS car entered. He ran 1.145 under, to get the #1 qualifying position for the day !

I’ve always noted Bill’s car, which is exceptionally clean, and it’s amazing performance. Similarly classed, he’s set the bar very high for many of us. What, like 15 class wins in a row at Indy, not sure what the record is but that has to be close. Congrats Bill.

Not only is Bill #1 in S/S, but there are 2 '74 GTO's in Stock. You don't normally see that many at one race. Very cool.

Bill's car has been one of my favorites for quite some time now.

Thank you for the kind words. Been running this car for 26 years, the last thirteen in Super Stock. Actually, at Indy, it's been 10 out of the last 11 years in Super Stock, 12 class wins at Indy overall.

Bill, thank you for coming on here and answering all my questions. I was wondering how long you had been running the '74. Thanks for beating me to it. Good luck in the coming years and keep that '74 GTO going strong.

I love that it is a small tire S/S car, not tubbed.
