roller cam

ordered a new cam from Chris .he asked what size rollers I was using, .700 or .750.i measured mine and have 5 cyl @.750 and 3 cyl @ .725 -.727, I know buy a new set.
Question how much would I be losing , was this why the motor was a turd ?

Well, you would think that the cam timing events are going to be affected, but to what degree? Hard to tell if that's why it's a turd.:(

I would say that the only way to answer that question would be to make a couple of dyno pulls with the "old" lifter setup, and then a couple more with the "new" setup. The other question you would certainly want answered is are the three cylinders with "small" lifters in them small in BORE diameter, or are the lifters themselves just too small for the bores (which are the same as the other five cylinders). In other words, do you have variety in lifter bore diameters, or just lifters that are floppy loose in correct diameter bores?

Re: roller cam

The roller wheel diameter isn't the reason the engine is a turd.

See you at the races,

Ooops. I completely misinterpreted that you were talking about roller wheel diameter, and thought you were talking about lifter body outside diameter. I visualized three cylinders with lifters "flopping around" in their bores, when in reality, you were just saying that you've got some with roller wheel diameter "A" and some with roller wheel diameter "B". I totally agree that THAT problem isn't what made you slow.
