Long time Super Stock, and match race legend, Dick Estivez passed away today. RIP Dick. Another great one gone too soon.

Rest In Peace Dickie who I had the pleasure of meeting at one of our trips to MIR. A drag racing legend in the Delmarva.

Dickie was an awesome guy, it was always good to see him at the track. Dickie and Dino Don were best friends. One of my track memory's was Dino showing Dickie how to a shift a stick properly. It was at a 75-80 Ford race. Dickie had his SS Magazine project Mustang there and I guess was not happy with the way it was shifting. Don got in it and made two back to back passes just rowing thru the gears then told him he though it needed more seat bracing. Funny how some things stick with you. RIP old friend

Sorry to hear about his death. I heard that he had fallen off a ladder and severely injured himself. I enjoyed watching him in his "Daddy Warbucks" Falcon. He always came to the Super Ford races at Milan Dragway for a match race. It's getting late in the game for us geezers.
