1968 hemi darts and barracudas / rules

Hey everyone,

New to the forum and was hoping someone would be able to may help with a question..

Doing some research on the 68 hemi darts and cudas built by Chrysler for the super stock class back then. Trying to find out what the rules were that required to Chrysler to build the cars the way they did.

Anyone here maybe have one of the old rule books or is familiar with the rules from then?

One of the rules at the time required the Cars Manufacturer to produce 50 or more of that particular model. NASCAR and SCCA had similar rules regarding cars available to the public. The sanctioning bodies were trying to keep Factory race vehicles from killing a class or category. A somewhat level playing field so everyone has a chance to be competitive.

Dont know, circumstancial, a stick car was ordered by Dependable, Vero Beach, bought by unknown to date, maybe he is watching. Drove to work!!!! Car was bought in 70's out of Fla. We do know it was a late build on Feb. 18, 68 based on VIN and never cut. Has the correct motor so the pros prolly' jerked those out. Has a title as well. Make an offer LOL Phish
