I see there is some big money races coming up, for S/SS...
1. NHRA doesn't care, if they did it would change.
2. Stop having them at NHRA tracks...
3. Stop using NHRA officials.....
4. Stop using NHRA media people, photographers, announcer.

Just do your own thing, and stop saying we are going to show NHRA...
You are her to promote Stock and Super Stock racing...

No.

We spend the time, cubic effort and money to build these combinations to run NHRA classes. Period.

If we were interested only in these 'big money races' you speak of, we could all build bracket dragsters for 1/3rd the cost*effort*time factor.

And no, again, just to be clear, you don't speak for me, whoever you are.

Yes there are several big money races coming up in the very near future. They are not intended to replace NHRA races they are simply another place to race with our type of classes. Hopefully they will be well attended and the promoters will make a few bucks and will be able to continue with these type of events. Back when class racing was started there were more places to race class cars then at the nationals and divisionals. Now not so much. These races will be good for our sport.

This is the mentality we ALL need to have.. playing the "stick it to NHRA" card isn't good for anyone. Looking for other place and providing it those who cant afford the time and travel commitments is literally the only way these classes will survive. If you have a local S/SS association I hope this is the mentality they have as well.. we shouldn't be looking for opportunities to tear each other down in this day and age.. we should be looking to facilitate as many people that want to risk something to put on events... otherwise soon enough there wont be anywhere to play with our class cars except bracket racing.

What I was say is..... “ don’t be saying we’re going to show NHRA”
And then use their place’s and people....

Say like “It time so show off Stock/Super Stock....”
I hopefully all events go good, and nobody take a bath on them...

Would really like to know your name, we could have a good talk about the confusion you are getting if you are taking info off this site. 99% of the (active) racers love NHRA and respect the official's that have been apart of our family for a long time. Do we think the reward should be on par vs inflation over the past 30 years, absolutely but we know that's never going to happen. These big money races are being put together by racers out of respect for the guys who give their heart and soul to keep Stock and Super Stock class racing alive.

Just want to step up and vouch for official22yrs.

I've known him for a long time and he's done much (both behind the scenes and out front) to both promote and keep Stock and Super Stock racing alive and growing. Whether it's an NHRA event or an independent venue, the amount of time and effort he puts in is because he loves it, period.

And while his post didn't come across the way it was intended...believe me, he is one of us! :)
