Quick brake line question

My 82 Malibu wagon bone stk factory power disc brakes.Plastic resevoir on top.
Putting line lock on,and those lines disappear down between frame and stuff in and out of prop valves.
So which line on master cyl goes to front brakes? front or back one?---------------Thanks

Re: Quick brake line question

I'm 99% sure it's the front.

Re: Quick brake line question

Bleed one of the front brakes (you're going to have to do it after the line lock install any way) and see which reservoir goes down.....That would be the one to the front brakes. I am with Greg. I bet it's the front one.

Re: Quick brake line question

If I remember correctly, the front line is the 3/16", and the rear is 1/4".......

The line on the front is definitly larger than the one on the back.
Bob,I thought about that,But I think its just 1 big reservoir that supplys both.I'll check it again---Thanks

Re: Quick brake line question

Theres a partial divider in the reservoir to serarate front and rear. Bleed the front as was suggested. Youll see the level go down on the correct end.

Come to think of it, those lines may be metric on an '82, so choose your fittings carefully.

Re: Quick brake line question

The larger brake line (front one) goes to the rear of the distribution block on the frame and then on to the rear brakes. The smaller rearmost line on the M/C goes to the front discs.

Thanks guys,It was the back one. After running around trying to find suitable switches and ways to mount them on other cars.I broke down and bought the Hurst switch.18 bucks with racer discount at Jegs.I highly recommend it.It has a big rubber band on it.Just take the shifter konb off, work it down over the shifter to the desired spot, screw the knob back on and your done.

Only bad thing I have found with that switch and the "big rubber band" mounting is, when you push it, it wants to slide around on the shift lever.
