Has anyone come up with the ring hardness in relation to cylinder wall hardness and what is best?

Re: Ring vs cylinder wall hardness
I would ask one of these guys about it, I feel both of them would be happy to talk to you.

Re: Ring vs cylinder wall hardness
The real thing cylinder wall hardness affects is how you hone the bores and what stone you use, also what honing oil and pressure you use on the honing stones!

Re: Ring vs cylinder wall hardness
Many years ago, Tony Feil would hone our S/S blocks to a mirror finish for the .043 moly filled top rings.
After a while we wanted to try the stainless dykes. Tony said we had to hone the blocks to the standard cross hatch pattern. What does that tell you ? |
