Why is there a breakout on S/SS combos?
Ok were running class and there's so many classes they've designed a combo race. Great Idea but its class right? Why make it just asmother bracket race? My opinion is remove the breakout! It would be keeping with the original Eliminator days. The fastest car wins! What a novel idea!!! Lol! But wait does that always happen? Hmmmm

Not sure I really understand the question here. My one and only class win was in Topeka where I went into the combo class.I won three rounds and there was "no breakout".
I have been competing at several Midwest Class Racer events in a SS/S combo. There are heads up races at these events. What am I missing here? What are you talking about? |

Some of the independent associations have "no heads up runs" at their races. I know the SSSSA was that way. It was voted by the racers to have no heads up to make it a more friendly environment for the slower racers
Our D2 National Open series races is random pair first round and those races have no heads up in round one. Break out is enforced. subsequent rounds are heads up no break out. |

Combo race means what it says
Stock and super stock combined eliminations Why would there be heads up ? Also you my lose the paying customer with a slow car Its a racer friendly race Can go fast as you want Get paid some $$$ Why do you live in the past. ? |
Re: Why is there a breakout on S/SS combos?
I was thinking about this and I think you want both cars to dial in at their index? Then, there is no breakout.
Whoever is the farthest under should theoretically win. I bet the car counts would really plummet if this ever happens. |

Comp is run off of the index and no break out. You get CIC hit if you go too far under the index. Comp is having trouble with car counts. The last D2 divisional had 2 comp cars there. So that class is dying a slow death. |
