Olds 7A Head Question
 

Im finding 7A heads for my car but have different part numbers. All the specs are the same. My question is do I have to run the part number for the 87/88 car or can I run the 7A head from 85 to 90?

You need to run the part #s that specifically show in the specs for
the particular year combo that you are running.

Jeff,

There are two 7A castings:

1972 Olds 350, P/N 409147, and 1985 through 1990 Olds 307, P/N 0142.

The difference between them is obvious because the Olds 350 has larger valves, a smaller combustion chamber, and larger ports, does not have the receded center exhaust port and the rocker arm pad is different.

What I'm finding seems to be the 85 86 version with the divider in exhaust port. The 87 88 head is what I'm not finding. Both have the same ccs everywhere
