Mopar perch on housing

To the Mopar group, what angle do you weld the perch (on housing) when using the Calvert setup and mono spring? Same as stock? A-Body car

Why not ask Calvert?

We run 1 to no more than 2 degrees down.
If you miss it can be corrected with wedges from
most spring shops.
Try to not get housing real hot.

Thanks, some said 5 or 3 down, I like 1 or 2 idea

With the old SS Springs or Tri City Super Launchers
3 to 4 would be correct but not for the Calverts

I switched from SS springs to caltracs and didn’t move the perches. It’s the original housing with the perches in the factory spot. Car hooks all the time. Just check the housing alignment, my car was 3/4” different from one side to the other.

The spring perch can be a real challenge. The housing has to be straight with the body. It needs to be zero toe in or out. Camber has to be zero or the tires won’t be 90* to the track. Everything may be just perfect until you weld on it. Then everything changes. A thick tube housing will still move as in a Dana 60 but not as much as an 8 3/4. The first one I did the axels would not go in without a hammer. The fun part was getting it straight again.
One to two degrees down

Weld on the opposite side of the tube and it will pull it back. Ugly, but it works. Or, get somebody with a jig to put new ends on it after you weld the perches on.
