LV update
The internet service at the Valley is quite poor, but here a quick rundown of today. The field is on the lite side, but the stk and SS turnout is strong with 85 stockers and 50-55 SS cars on the grounds. The top dog in stock after todays qualifiers is Jean Philippe Tremblay in his FS/H 2012 Mustang @ -1.002. He is the only car to go a sec. Under. Sorry SS fans, I don’t have the SS sheets.
The weather has been iffy, with a few rain drops now and then, a whopping 29.1 barometer, but comfortable mid 60 degree temps and moderate humidity. All was good until around 5 when some heavy rain showers passed through, ending the racing for the day. Everybody got two shots, but they didn’t get the clean ups in or finish any of the very well supported quick 8’s. The track has been decent, not much sun has helped a bunch. Tomorrow everyone gets one more shot then into eliminations. The schedule calls for two rounds of stock, we’ll see what happens. |

Re: LV update
Good morning -Thanks for jumping in guys as I was a bit busy yesterday working on a new combo .Well light entries is an understatement - would you believe 7 comp entries ? Anyway the total is around 300 which even for LV is low .As George pointed out only one entry has gone 1 second under with only a few in the nineties under .Somehow when Wally created Stock eliminator I don't think he had this kind of holding back in mind .There has to be a better way - any ideas ? Send 'em to our Stock - S/S rep .This is not fun ....
Since we got here it's been a mixed bag - 1st we had smoke up the wazoo then came rain followed by a cold front - what's next - a blizzard? Today is mild for sure with sunshine and temps in the high sixties - first round dial will be a challenge for sure .As for traction - most of the time it's been there - saw a few spin but we'll see as the race progresses . Back with some pics after our last Q run this morning . |
Re: LV update
I believe I saw Anne Toews go -1.?? with a 2 bbl combo , of all things !!
NO detailed results, no Q sheets on Live Timing..Announcers that seem to miss a lot and don't even mention the top qualifiers. No downtrack camera... Looks and feels like amateur hour to me Obviously Warren Evans is not there... Great Stock turnout but , @ 300 cars, Losersville for LVD...Not so for NHRA ;-) |
Re: LV update
So here it is - 1:40 and no 1st round yet - seems there is trouble getting the Stock ladder finished .That plus this deal is over @5 pm sharp because the roundy-round track starts .Would post Q sheets but not available yet .
And then there is the extra slow Internet .......... |
Re: LV update
Thanks for the update Jack.
I was wondering why Stock didn’t run after SST. |

Stock didn't run because they took three attempts to come up with a ladder..Still not sure it's right b/c haven't seen a Q sheet yet either.. Am i being too critical here? I'm sorry. Not intending to upset any NHRA devotees Five pairs into S/S and still showing the info box from Alcohol... |

Re: LV update
After 4 or 5 attempts at getting the stock ladder correct, we finally did get the first round done, as did all the classes. A huge oil down by, you guest it, an alcohol funny car shut things down for a good hour. But the dirt guys held up their program and everything is back on schedule.
Forget about the qualifying posted on DRC, it’s most likely wrong. Along with some of the mystery drivers that are listed. Tomorrow has a chance of showers later in the day, hopefully we can get this thing done. Back to you Jack, it’s all yours now. |
