I would think that relates to flickering the stage bulbs, and possibly some sort of beam breaker to aid rollout...but mostly the stage bulb game.

Some of these kids are downright dangerous once they get behind the wheel of a full size car. Not just because of their skill, but some of the poor driving habits they pick up from people they think are "cool".

With the stagger on dragster front wheels, it is possible to have both cars staged, turn steering wheel a little to flicker your top bulb and start timer. Then you count down and stage right before the timer expires and the other driver does not have a chance to get in and gets timed out. I've seen it done before. Works against a driver that refuses to stage 1st. It was a big car thing that has trickled down to juniors now.

Pre-staged.

I don't love the move, but the only way to possibly be burned by it is to insist on staging last.

Go up there, put your car in the beams in a reasonable amount of time, and these bad guys/girls can't hurt you.
