Looking for a photo
Does anyone know of anyone that has a picture of the 68 C/MP, A/MP Camaro that I raced in 70 with Richard Maskin? The car was the same blue and white paint scheme just like our Checkmate cars but it had a large "KM" on the door which stood for Keener & Maskin.
Any help in locating a photo of this car would be greatly appreciated! Mike Keener Team Checkmate Race Cars |

Mike, Try Mike Goyda at www.goyda.com. He's the undisputed king of Drag Racing memorabilia. God, he even has Don Garlits firesuits from the 60s. Not only that but he's the nicest guy you will ever have a chance to meet and deal with. Tell him I sent you, and please let me know how you make out. Frank Hamer Jr. STK 1045

Mike,
Try Les Welch at LesWelch@Prodigy.net. Also, you might try contacting Dick Towers, 714-547-6004, as he has bought the collections of a lot of the old photographers. Bob Rice |

Re: Looking for a photo
Thanks Everyone For Your Suggestions And I Will Follow Up On Them And Let You Know How It Turns Out.
Bud...I Think We Ran The Car At Trails At A Points Race And The Springs But I Couldn't Make Every Race That Year Because I Was Serving In The Military. This Car Was The First C/mp Car To Run In The 10's And Set The National Record At The Cayuga Points Meet That Year (70) At 10.96 @ 125.96 Mph. Ironically Our First Team Checkmate Camaro Was The The First C/mp Car To Set It In The 9's (9.98 @ 135.54) Doing The Deed At The Indy Points Meet In 1974. Again Thanks For All The Help And Suggestions And Happy New Year To Everyone! MK |

Hi Mike.....This is Terry. I think I have a picture in my old magazines. Im in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. visiting my girl friend for the holidays and will return around the 5th or 6th. I will look for it at that time. Its 85 degrees here today and its GREAT Harley riding weather. Lots of "Street Rods" running around here also. Hope you had a great Christmas and will stay out of trouble for the New Years. Top Stock lives on. Terry Bell

Bud...contact me at camaroracer@hotmail.com!
Terry...You ol dog! Glad to hear you are havin some fun in the sun!! Yes....! the original Top Stock that WE started in 2000 does live on and I couldn't be happier! Hey if you can find that magazine photo or anything else that would be great. I have a worn out copy somewhere of the 1970 National Magazine article (not sure of the month) written by Alex Walordy in "Cars" magaizine title the "White Knight" but it didn't contain any color photos. Anything color or B&W would be great! In fact Dwight...if you are following this thread can you look through your extensive collection for another copy of the Cars article or anything else about this car? I would love to have additional copies. Thanks!! MK |
