What's The Point Of Even Having A Div. 5 Anymore ???
Let's all be honest with ourselves & wake up & admit with all the original Div.5 tracks Pro-Am events long gone @ (Great Lakes,Cedar Falls,Cordova,Eddyville,Wis.Inter,Minot,Thunder Valley,US-41 ect, ect) Why not just eliminate IHRA Div.5 once & for all ?? Face it all the '07 IHRA Div.5 events (Byron,Mich131 & Osceola) were in Div.3 anyway....So why not just terminate Div.5 once & for all and add all those events to a new bigger expanded '08 IHRA Div.3 schedule??? What's the point in trying to keep Div.5 alive hanging on by thumbnails and tarnishing all the good memories that Div.5 Commander Alex & Tony Denysenko worked so hard for from 2000-2004 when they got Bill Bader to move IHRA west to begin with in the first place.

According to the IHRA web site, the division 5 Pro-Am schedule is listed as "coming soon".

Re: Any info on I.H.R.A. Div 5
I talked to Joel a few weeks before Christmas...the deal is going to be Martin, Osceloa and Byron. They are waiting fro Byron to picka date that will work out better for them this year.

Aren't Martin & Osceola Already In Div. 3 Anyway ???
Guys unless IHRA is going to have Pro-Am's back again in the original confinds Div.5 (which was in Wis,Iowa, & S.D). ect this coming '08 season.... Why not just eliminate the old Div.5 for '08 & stop all the "pain & suffering" of having to watch it die a slow death track by track does that make too much sense or not ??? Just add the Byron,Osceola & Martin-131 events to the Div.3 schedule & be done with it.

Re: Any info on I.H.R.A. Div 5
Dave,
I'm glad they are giving us another chance to grow the turnout. I really like the 2 race weekend format. I raced the "old" Division 5 and the new format this year. Enjoyed them both. Don't remember your name on any qualifying sheets???? Tom Rix |
Re: Any info on I.H.R.A. Div 5
Dave WE GET IT.......sheesh you like the old format....but ITS NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
As well I dont want to have to spend the fuel bill at 3.27 a gallon this AM in Chicago to tow to South freakin Dakota or Pittsburgh..nor does anyone else. At this point the sport of Drag Racing needs ANY and ALL possible avenues of intrest. In case you havent noticed we have lost a few facilites as well as a few series. Not to mention you have lost a few IHRA tracks to NHRA in this div. so the "old" schedule wont exactly work. shooter....its piss poor attitudes on ALL sides that have ruined the div. its time to put it away and RACE what is offered..support on both sides goes a very long way. |
Re: Any info on I.H.R.A. Div 5
Well said, Shooter. At first, I wasn't too crazy about the two races in one weekend format when it was introduced, but after experiencing it, I think it's fine and look forward to it again this year.

Come On Work With Me Guys !!! Lol
Calm down guys & put your reading glasses on & go read my posts again...Who said anything about eliminating the excellent time saving / fuel saving 2-day double IHRA Pro-Am's ??? What I said was... eliminate IHRA Div.5 in '08 (because all the events are basicly in Div.3 anyway) and just add all those events to the IHRA Div.3 schedule & be done with all the pain & suffering of having to watch all the old IHRA Div.5 tracks die a slow death one by one as they all defect & fall to the evil empire NHRA sanction.Guess that makes too much sense so ya know it won't happen right ??

Just curious is there some rule or law that any given IHRA Div. can't have more then 6 Pro-Am events in a single season or what?
