VMP Schedule

For those who are not on FB or check the run schedule, the plan was 3 Qualifiers and 1st round on Friday, due to the heat this upcoming weekend the qualifiers have been cut to 2 and Round 1 & 2 will be run on Friday meaning by Saturday less then 50 cars total will remain in Stock, SS, SC, SG and TS.

Good luck to all!

Personally I am not interested in attending a national event where we run 2 qualifiers in the morning and run 2 elimination rounds late in the evening the same day after every thing else is done.

This is fantastic. I can show up and get a couple rounds in before I have to stay all weekend to run 2nd or 3rd round saturday night. Wish it was always like this tbh

Definitely a racer friendly schedule. If you live close by you only have to miss one day of work.. If you play your cards right you can make 2 morning hits, lose first/second round and still be home in time to catch Blue Bloods rerun at 10 pm

The thing I find funny is with my series and most ?associations? they do something similar, 2 TT and full elims that day. I normally ask ?hey why don?t you run with us?? the response I normally get besides the normal response (no Wally) is 2 time runs and all rounds in one day everyone is going to be dead on, well guess what going to be a lot of dead on the dial runs, 9.900, 8.900 in R1 & R2 unless a massive cold front comes in during the afternoon.

Either way, stay safe and drink LOTS OF WATER!!

It's never easy. If you run the race in one day, all of the racing is tighter, making it more difficult. If you string it out for 2 or 3 days for no reason, you have to catch all the weather swings and track conditions. Both situations are tough.

I would have loved it because I always find a way to mess it up the next day?I?m a good qualifier, R1 I normally play too much with the dial or the stop?lol

At this event, there isn't even "everything else" to follow on Friday. It's two hits and then straight into eliminations.

Re: VMP Schedule

First off, I?m not a racer. I?m a spectator who likes to come on Friday morning starting with SST and take pictures through the sportsman classes. I?ve been to more than a few National events on Friday or Thursday in some cases in the past and there won?t be more than 50-100 fans in the stands other than family and friends of the racers, I don?t think. I wish it would be packed on Friday and nobody show up on Saturday. But we all know that ain?t gonna happen. Good luck to all sportsman classes tomorrow and take care of yourselves in the heat. Galot was brutal last Friday when I was there.
