Inductees spotlight Section on the CDRHF Facebook site

I find this really interesting to share. (Integral text from the site)

-Inductee Glenn Grow:
From his very first moments in the water box at Sanair in 1982, Glenn Grow knew that NHRA racing was for him?he was hooked. Glenn began touring the United States with the NHRA?s Safety Safari and was a part of the Northeast division?s certification and safety team. Ten years were spent as manager of Lebanon Valley Dragway, exploring every aspect of drag racing from marketing and promoting, to taking out the trash. During his time at Lebanon, he befriended John Finke and joined his Top Alcohol dragster team. Glenn then toured the country as a crew member while the team won many divisional and national events, as well as a division championship. Though a successful run, it was time for a change in his life. After a short hiatus from racing, Glenn got a call from his old friend Dave Mohn who had an idea?this is where the rest of the story starts.

Hi Richie 2,
It's not my work.
It's just a "copy and paste" of the great work and research by someone on CDRHF.
I just want to share the stories of great people, up here (where the ice was born...) with fantastic focus and passion for drag racing.
I don't even know the name of the author.
Keep on,

Re: 2024 Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame inductees

Inductee: Gilles Labonte:

Gilles Labonte's passion for drag racing began in 1967 with his meeting of famed engine builder Jean Lippe. Starting in 1970, he worked in development and publicity for Quebec's Speed'n Sport, connecting with notable racers. In 1972, Gilles became the official announcer at Pont Rouge Drag Strip, a role he held for over 15 years, expanding to other Quebec tracks and events. From 1973 to 1979, he provided French-language commentary for the NHRA Grand National at Sanair. With a nearly 50-year career covering tracks across Quebec, Gilles's dedication made him a beloved figure in Canadian drag racing, establishing his candidacy for the Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame.

He was a "BIG PART" of the show taking the time (at every program at Pont Rouge Drag Strip) to go in the pit and speak with racers to learn more on their most recent modification. Spectators was always up to date regarding that. I still have occasions to meet him at the race and I salute him here for amazing passion.
