Tossed on a Single?
1 Attachment(s)
I can't recall ever seeing this one before. I know you have to stage the car to win a single, but I would think a warning would suffice. Was this an oops moment or something else? Anyone in Joliet with the real untold story?

Re: Tossed on a Single?
It says "rolled past', not "crossed under power".

Re: Tossed on a Single?
I believe that the only cars that can "burn out" past or go past the starting line are any dragsters--and various other classes of cars DEFINATELY NOT Stock Class or Super Stock Class cars---IF you go past the starting line on a burnout you are eligible to be tossed/disqualified---looks like that's what happened here-- FED 387

Re: Tossed on a Single?
At one time, the rule read clearly, "cannot cross the starting line UNDER POWER".

Re: Tossed on a Single?
Throttle hung open on the burnout. Could have been a bad situation for all involved, thankfully it was not.

Re: Tossed on a Single?
Back in the 90s I saw a guy leave before the tree was activated on a single run at a national event, and he was not allowed to appear in the next round.

Re: Tossed on a Single?
One year in Columbus Joey Wilkes had a heads up the following round... and prepped his car for it on the current bye run. Made a mistake, was 5 or 10 light at scales. Never forget his pit guy (Mike Means) yelling at the TOP of his lungs as Joey tried in vein to explain. Mike is "YOU CAN'T GET THROWED OUT! ITS A BYE RUN! LOL...
